Some fun in the sun

It was looooong overdue. We finally took off to the ocean and rode in the wind. It was just the two of us. Cat is literally ‘juiced and dined’ at her grandmother’s along with plenty of fun and attention. She needed it too! Anyway, we were looking forward towards some nice clear weather… you know, the kind that is expected at the beach but it wasn’t at Hylton Head Island. As we approach the island, we smell the salty air. Automatically our stress levels went to zero and we make plans of ‘moving to the beach’ -in our minds. We found accommodations easily at a reasonable rate (for Hylton Head) and we were walking distance to the beach and 60+ restaurants and stores!! What could be better?

Quick lunch at Ruan Thai

After lunch, it was rain, rain and more rain. It wouldn’t too bad if we were in a car. But bikes don’t do too well on wet pavement. We were drenched rats by the time we got back to the hotel and we smelled like wet road! The rain kept us in for the evening and we ordered pizza and wings from a local pizza joint. We decided that night that we were heading north- somewhere. First choice- Charleston but they were getting more rain than HH. So, Myrtle Beach here we come! We rode along the coast on Alt-17 and dodged all the bad weather. We got into town in one piece and made(surprisingly) good time with very little traffic. We found a condo for a very reasonable price once again- Blue Water Resort with 3 pools, 2 hot tubs, and right on the beach with a VIEW! Later that night, dinner was at Dirty Don’s- a small happenin’ place that serves topless raw oysters and a variety of seafood favorites. So far the best DEAL in town for raw oysters! Here’s Don checking his emails : )
