Lifestyle: Whitney & Weslee

Not too many moons ago, the Appalachian Regional Hospital hosted a charity event named Asphalt Jungle to raise money to benefit the pediatric floor of the Hazard ARH. The event was held at the new Medical Mall in the Black Gold Plaza. It was literally held on freshly paved asphalt and under white tents. Locals of many walks of life came out to celebrate and give and bid on silent auctions donated by local businesses. The Halls won a bid on my Gift Certificate and I couldn’t be more honored to photograph this special family. Our session started with a few shots of the family and led to some ‘sisterly’ shots. But, I have to start of with these breathtaking moments of the Hall girls. I couldn’t ask for a more prepared set of family. Everyone was READY!

Here… Weslee working it!

A Taste of Hazard 09

Last month myself and many ‘regulars’ sampled gourmet dishes, mouth watering hors d’oeuvres, and delectable desserts prepared by some of the best cooks in Perry County and the surrounding areas. A Taste of Hazard is an event to benefit the Hazard/ Perry County Community Ministries. This year’s goodies were just yummy! Here are a few memorable delights…

The Cake & Dessert Madame- Maga Lea Wiseman. She makes the best tasting cakes, muffins, truffles.. you name it!

THE best punch ever! It was gone in 1/2 hour! Courtesy of John Stacy.

Greasy pig

No pig was harmed during this fundraiser for D. ‘Shorty’ Miller this past Saturday. Bikers, family, and friends came to support and celebrate the life of Shorty who just had a double lung transplant at Vanderbilt University Hospital. Miraculously, he is doing quite well.

Balloons, hotdogs, lemonade, & grilling… all too familiar for a summer gathering. In fact it was a summer gathering with friends, family, co-workers, and supporters of the Relay for Life Cancer Walk this year. Every June we see familiar faces coming together to show support, comfort, and pray for a CURE for cancer. Here are a few snap shots of the day.
