Engagement: Krystal + Kaleb

It turned out to be a beautiful day for a beautiful couple. Though the air was a little chilly at 9am it didn’t stop Krystal and Kaleb from having a good and easy day in each other’s arms. We started their engagement session indoors near the Lexington Children’s Theatre. It was still early so we had the whole place to ourselves- giving the couple some privacy and me plenty of freedom to find cool spots. It wasn’t too hard to place this couple as they fully cooperative and eager to show their love. Can you see it?

Besides the cool stores, I love these mini black and white hexagon tiles all over the interior of this building… what is the word… nostalgic? And natural light showered the couple from the skylights above giving them just enough glow to illuminate their ‘love’…yes MORE love! Can you feel it yet?

After a quick wardrobe change, we moved on outside for some fresh Lexington air and more beautiful light. I must say Krystal is a natural beauty. She barely has a stitch of makeup on and yet she radiates! She almost look like Naomi Watts and in some shots, Scarlett Johansson!! Take a look and let me know what you think!

As we were walking along and scouting for more interesting places, we came across a ‘farmer’s market’ (who knew) and a group of young folks giving away FREE hugs! I thought it would be fitting to take a shot or two of them in the background ..well because… Krystal and Kaleb was doing a lot of hugging (and kissing) that morning!

A few short blocks away is this great FIND- a store named after my birth month ‘JANUARY’. It houses the coolest finds- namely antiques, wood and metal crafts, home furnishings and many other neat things.

A little color twist for a close-up.

Krystal and Kaleb: Thank you, thank you, thank you! For your patience, your kindness and more importantly your love for each other. It shows and I can’t wait to capture even MORE love on your wedding day in May! It will be here soon : )

Take a look at more images of their engagement session here. Happy Thursday! Anxiously awaiting comments : ))

The farmer’s wife

In Lexington last Friday, Catherine and I had an interesting conversation. We were on our way to the Kentucky Horse Park and we passed by several farms- Beautiful farms with black wooden fences, countless cows and other farm animals, barns, etc. You get the picture.. Anyway, here goes our conversation..

Cat:   When I grow up, I’ll marry a farmer.

Chrsi: A farmer? Why?

Cat: I want to live on a farm and have lots of animals.

Chris: So, you want to drive a tractor and work in a farm?

Cat:  NO! That’s the farmer’s job. I’m the farmer’s wife. I feed the animals, play with them and all that.

Chris: How are you going to feed the animals?

Cat: I’ll grow and sell vegetables and fruits. I’ll grow carrots and such for the rabbits, pigs, and horses. I’ll use vegetables, dirt, and water to make ‘slop’. O… I will also have sheep and cats.

Here are a few images from the horse park 🙂

It was almost 90 deg F that day.. so it didn’t smell so good around the stables.
