Wedding: Cassie + Jameson

They met just a few months ago through friends and they were inseparable ever since. Just a month after their meeting at the Lexington Center Park, Jameson proposed! Why? Because he knew she was the one. THE one who would complete him. THE one who would love him, now and forever. THE one he could grow old with. Cassie of course accepted and couldn’t be more excited! They planned a small wedding with the help of a few close friends and family in just 4 months! Cassie’s favorite color had always been red.. so it was no surprise when she picked red for her Maid of Honor and Bridesmaid’s dresses and paired it with other fall colors for her flowers and decor. THE day came and though it was 40 deg F outside, their love was still a warm 98.6 deg F! Cassie was up early for her hair session and then makeup at the local Clinique counter at Peebles. Samantha worked her magic on ‘simple’ Cassie and gave her a classy and sweet look for her BIG day. To give it some ooomph… she chose a light red for her lips. More like cherry on a pie.

Engagement: Krystal + Kaleb

It turned out to be a beautiful day for a beautiful couple. Though the air was a little chilly at 9am it didn’t stop Krystal and Kaleb from having a good and easy day in each other’s arms. We started their engagement session indoors near the Lexington Children’s Theatre. It was still early so we had the whole place to ourselves- giving the couple some privacy and me plenty of freedom to find cool spots. It wasn’t too hard to place this couple as they fully cooperative and eager to show their love. Can you see it?

Besides the cool stores, I love these mini black and white hexagon tiles all over the interior of this building… what is the word… nostalgic? And natural light showered the couple from the skylights above giving them just enough glow to illuminate their ‘love’…yes MORE love! Can you feel it yet?

After a quick wardrobe change, we moved on outside for some fresh Lexington air and more beautiful light. I must say Krystal is a natural beauty. She barely has a stitch of makeup on and yet she radiates! She almost look like Naomi Watts and in some shots, Scarlett Johansson!! Take a look and let me know what you think!

As we were walking along and scouting for more interesting places, we came across a ‘farmer’s market’ (who knew) and a group of young folks giving away FREE hugs! I thought it would be fitting to take a shot or two of them in the background ..well because… Krystal and Kaleb was doing a lot of hugging (and kissing) that morning!

A few short blocks away is this great FIND- a store named after my birth month ‘JANUARY’. It houses the coolest finds- namely antiques, wood and metal crafts, home furnishings and many other neat things.

Krystal and Kaleb: Thank you, thank you, thank you! For your patience, your kindness and more importantly your love for each other. It shows and I can’t wait to capture even MORE love on your wedding day in May! It will be here soon : )

Take a look at more images of their engagement session here. Happy Thursday! Anxiously awaiting comments : ))

A Non-Tradition

Seeing each other before the wedding doesn’t bring bad luck (pre-21st century), it brings great photos!!  A whiiiiillle back… way back in the days of pre-arranged marriages (when a marriage was a business deal/ transaction between families), brides and grooms were never allowed to see (even meet) each other before the wedding. This was so the groom wouldn’t have time to back out of the wedding if he happened to find the bride unattractive or unappealing. Over the years, the tradition of the ‘bride in hiding’ changed into a superstition and seeing each other before the wedding was considered ‘bad luck’! Nowadays, this tradition is being kicked to the curb by modern, photo-loving brides and grooms everywhere. The First Look… DSC_1460

We capture every smile, every tear, every laugh, every kiss. This moment together is often private, quiet and serene. Chances are the ‘first look’ pictures will end up being some of your favorites from the entire day!!

Why consider?

We’ll have more time for amazing NATURAL LIGHT portraits. If you wait until the ceremony to see each other, all the portraits will be after the wedding. This is no problem if you’re doing an early afternoon wedding. Having an extra hour or so before the ceremony for the wedding party and the Bride & Groom portraits when there is still plenty of sunlight makes for great portraits!

Get to your reception quicker! Getting most of your photos done before the ceremony when there’s no rush and nobody waiting for you is 100% less stressful! Plus, you will have more time to enjoy the cocktail hour with all the guests.

Consider TIMELINE-

Create a TIMELINE that reflects a stress free relaxed day! If given very limited time for photographs, we are not always able to work our creativity to the fullest. With adequete time, you will feel more relaxed and comfortable during the picture time and not feel so rushed! YOU deserve a FAB wedding with amazing photographs and we want to give you the BEST, but like anyone we need time to do it! Please let me know if you need  further guidance with your wedding timeline. HAPPY WEEKEND!!

White? Why not!

I recently ordered a Wedding Album for a client and I can’t thank them enough for choosing something other than black! Don’t get me wrong..I love the color black.. little black dress, sky-high black heels, you name it.. I think 1/2 my closet is black! Anyway, they chose w-h-i-t-e leather! How bold! The album arrived in no time and it looked amazing! I’d describe it:

Clean .  PURE  . fresh  .  Briiiiight  .  CRISP  .

Here are a few images of the album just in case you are wondering. How would YOU describe it?
